Staging a Home For Sale (Video)

Staging a Home For Sale (Video Transcription)

Hi, it’s George Belleville, and I’m creating this video because I want to talk to you about staging a home for sale, our process, how we do it, the pros and cons of it, and what you might want to decide to do when selling your house.

So there are a couple of things to think about. First of all, when we work with a seller and list their home for sale, we cover the cost of a staging consultation, which to me is the most important part of that staging process. Our stager gives you all kinds of advice about what you can do with what you have now. They make paint suggestions, color suggestions, furniture arrangement, throw pillows, and more. They’ll talk about decluttering, which is kind of a separate part of staging.

At the end of the consultation, they’ll make some suggestions about staging your home, what they would do for you, and how much they would charge. We do not cover the cost of the staging because that’s up to you.

Some people have a full house, some have already started to transition out, or they’re moving, which gives them the opportunity to physically stage the house. There are advantages to this, such as giving buyers the feel of what the house could look like with the staged furniture. However, it can also be pretty expensive.

Another option is virtual staging, which can be very easy. We cover most of the cost of that, depending on the listing package we choose. We cover the main rooms, so you don’t need to worry about that. We can virtually stage rooms to give buyers the feel for what the house could look like online. However, it’s harder to virtually stage around existing furniture.

Each option has its pros and cons, and it’s up to you to decide which one you want to do. If you have questions or thoughts about what you want to do with your house, let me know. We probably already talked about this at our listing appointment, but I wanted to send this out as a reminder so we can decide what to do.

If you have any questions, let me know. Have a great day.
